Candidates put themselves in confusion while making a decision

Everyone feels very happy after getting a job in a good company after a lot of effort and rejections from companies. Everyone knows that it’s not an easy journey to get even 1 offer from the company. It takes a lot of effort, time and a big heart to accept the rejection email. No one can understand the pain who is not walking towards the path of facing rejections.

Every company has a different set of interview stages and every candidate’s mindset is different to work with a particular company. You can read more about what candidates look for while interviewing with any company.

Before directly jumping towards the topic, I would like to suggest to everyone that you can read about Recruitment Trends

Below are some of the reasons by which candidates put themselves in confusion:-

  • Candidates are not committed to 1 company from which they have got the offer and this results in a lot of confusion in their minds at the end of the serving the notice period.
  • Candidates decline the offer just because of little less pay than other potential companies and end up making bad decisions which they realize after 2,3 months working in the company.
  • Candidates who are not aware of the working model in other companies end up making a bad decision. I have seen candidates join the company by hearing BUZZZ words like AI, ML, Blockchain from a recruiter in the interview process and they realize working for 1,2 months.
  • Every candidate is interested in reading glassdoor reviews. I am not saying that you shouldn’t but it’s very important to know that every company has its Pros and Cons. Some candidates end up making a bad decision by reading just 1 or 2 negative reviews on Glassdoor.
  • If a candidate has 2 offers in hand then sometimes they compare each and every point in both the offer which is impossible to get. No one can get everything that a candidate looks for even if we join Google. And then end up making bad decisions.
  • Some candidates discuss the offer details and benefits with their friends and say no to the company. I would like to say that “Every person has a different opinion and everyone will share their experience. So, a candidate should think thrice before saying No to the company”
  • Some candidates get the offer from very well-known US companies like Microsoft, Google, LinkedIn and they say NO to other companies and end up making bad decisions just by looking at BIG BRAND.
  • Some candidates show interest in giving interviews with the companies and say NO to the company at the offer stage just saying the reason like my parents are not saying to join the smaller company and end up making bad decisions.

The above-said point is what I have experienced in my career. I would love to see what other Recruiters have observed. If you have any please Respond to this story.
