Recruitment trends have drastically changed after the pandemic. Every good candidate has min 2 offers in hand and is still not satisfied. Candidates keep seeking opportunities until their last working day and exactly 1 day or on the last working day, the candidate is selecting 1 company and ditching all other companies.

Research says that 1 out of 4 candidates would like to explore the new opportunity. Particularly, software developers are in VERY high demand. You can refer MOST in-demand jobs LinkedIn survey. It is very difficult for recruiters to figure out a genuine candidate who can join the company

Candidates are doing a lot of crazy things just to get the offer. I have seen some candidates who just take the offer and show it to the current company and get a better salary.

Offer shopping was/is/will be the trend but after the pandemic, this has been increased a lot and it’s very tricky for recruiters to rely on and trust the candidates.

What do genuine candidates look for?

  • The first and more most reason for a job change is a new set of challenges along with salary growth.
  • Some candidates look for a job change to work with a new set of people and new culture.
  • Some candidates look for a job change JUST for a better salary, this kind of people doesn’t bother about work, culture, people, benefits and so on.
  • Some candidates look for a job change for flexible work timings along with good work.
  • Some candidates look for a job change for good mentors to work with along with other benefits.
  • Some candidates particularly look for job security along with other benefits.
  • Some candidates particularly look for product-based or service-based companies.
  • Some candidates particularly look for startup or MNC companies.
  • Some candidates look for a job change just to work remotely or work from anywhere or work from home
  • Some candidates look for a job change JUST for promotion/role change along with salary & other benefits.
  • Some candidates look for a job change for learning growth where companies support financially in e-learning platforms.
