Recruitment Trends

Before the Covid19 pandemic, getting a job opportunity OR finding a candidate was going very smoothly and very strictly process-oriented. In the year 2020, the way of working and hiring has drastically changed.

The 2020 year was a whole together different ball game where it was BIG ? for not only recruiters but also candidates. It was an unexpected change in way of working & hiring.

The initial 1-2 months were full of challenges for recruiters in terms of virtual hiring & onboarding because recruiters are fond of face-to-face interaction. 2020 was full of challenges for all the companies in terms of Sales, Marketing, Hiring & onboarding.

Somewhere in the month of Sep 2020, everyone has accustomed to the way of work which we say “Work from home” as there was no choice and there was some hope that 2021 would go nicely but it was even worse than 2020.

The reason for giving this experience is because there was a tremendous increase in demand in the year 2021 and it’s still continuing which was nowhere in the year 2020 and every recruiter is just hoping that candidate should JOIN US!

AND now, we have just entered the year 2022 and we are yet to hear NEW surprises from Covid19

Entered from 2021 to the 2022 year with NEW surprises & challenges

The demand for candidates is such a HIGH, even companies are ready to give more than a 100% salary hike.

There was a time when recruiters used to rely on candidates and candidates used to JOIN the company and in today’s scenario, selecting a good candidate is only a 20% struggle for recruiters and onboarding is an 80% struggle.

The candidates are just taking the offers and getting retained in the current company by showing the offer in hand. The retention ratio has been increased suddenly and attrition has been decreased.

Every potential candidate has min 2 offers in hand & still not satisfied. Recruiters need to SCAN candidates in such a way that we should get the TRUTH about the candidate.

The other way round is that Recruiters also became SMART enough in all aspects and only interested in candidate’s profile who is TRUSTWORTHY & GENUINE.

Conclusion- LinkedIn survey says that 81% of talent professionals agree virtual recruiting will continue post-COVID and 70% of talent professionals say virtual recruiting will become the new standard
